Dakota State University (DSU) is one of the most distinguished institutions in the United States, having been founded in 1881 for teacher education. The name of Madison Normal School was changed to Madison State Normal School in 1902. The name was changed to Eastern State Normal School about two decades later.

Dakota State College was established in 1969, and in 1989, Dakota State University was established to reflect the inclusion of new graduate programmes. The South Dakota System Board of Regents manages the institution, which is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

The university, which is located in Madison, South Dakota, offers over 45 main programmes and follows the Academic Quality Improvement Program approach. The university's teacher education programmes have also been accredited by the South Dakota Department of Education. Madison is a lovely city in the United States of America's state of South Dakota. Dakota State University International Admissions
