Environmental Health Science studies the relationship between the environment and human health. This includes preventing illness by identifying and assessing hazardous agents, environmental sources and limiting exposures to chemical, physical and biological agents in air, water, soil, food and other environments that may impact human health. Environmental health professionals work to ensure safe water, food, air quality and workplace conditions, mitigate the impact of disasters and investigate and help control disease outbreaks. Available courses include:

• Environmental Law & Policy
• Geographic Information Systems

Graduates monitor and assess air and water quality, noise pollution, exposure to toxicants, disease outbreak risks, food safety and other factors that adversely impact human health. Employment sectors include industry, local, state and national government agencies, international organizations and public interest groups. Graduates can also continue their education in public health, education, business or medical school.
