MIS blends business and information systems knowledge and tools. In a work environment, MIS professionals bridge the gap between technology development and the use of technology in other disciplines. MIS professionals help others use technology to do their jobs. The business analytics concentration teaches you how to access, manage and use data to create information that can aid organizational decisions. Courses give you a foundation in skills needed to handle, organize, mine, analyze, visualize and interpret data. All MIS students complete a semester-long consulting project for a local business or nonprofit organization. The MIS major also offers a general degree and a concentration in cybersecurity.
