The University offers a bachelor of science (BS) in insurance and risk management.

The program provides students with the applied and theoretical knowledge needed for leadership roles and professional roles. Upon completion, students possess the skills, risk management and insurance knowledge, ethics, technological competency, and confidence necessary to succeed in the insurance and financial services industry.

Coursework includes a comprehensive base of liberal studies and business courses—plus an exceptionally broad range of challenging coursework that focuses on all major aspects of insurance, risk management, and financial planning. All coursework is first-tier among insurance and risk management programs nationwide, and serves as the foundation for professional designations and licenses.

Students have several opportunities for international study, including the Surplus Lines Insurance course, which typically involves travel to London over spring break. Some internships also include international travel and lead to career positions that include work in other countries or with professionals from other parts of the world.

Insurance and risk management majors and minors participate in Gamma Iota Sigma, the international collegiate risk management, insurance, and actuarial science organization. The Insurance and Risk Management Honors Corps recognizes the academic achievements of the program's talented majors and minors who earn a 3.6 or higher overall grade point average.
