The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs, as well as several certificate programs in Electrical Engineering and Systems Engineering. The department provides students with an education that balances theory and practice and, through dynamic programs with interdisciplinary opportunities, prepares students to meet the challenges of an ever-changing, complex world.

Ranked No. 22 for best undergraduate engineering program by U.S. News & World Report (2022), the LMU Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program provides students with valuable hands-on experience in all aspects of engineering development through a sequence of dedicated junior-level lab courses and a senior capstone, a year-long, team-based project that asks students to seek solutions to some of the world's most challenging problems.

The Master of Science in Electrical Engineering program features contemporary courses, flexible schedules, a thesis and a non-thesis option, and close interactions between full-time students and part-time working professionals. Both undergraduate and graduate students work side-by-side with faculty experts on cutting-edge research, including sensor networks and wearable technology, machine learning, optics, electromagnetics and wireless communications.
