As a chemistry major at Sacred Heart, you'll benefit from a balanced curriculum that prepares you for a career or further study. The applied teacher-scholar model provides the opportunity for chemistry students to work alongside faculty who are actively engaged in their field. The chemistry major provides a solid foundation for students wanting to pursue a career in a variety of different fields including but not limited to health care, research scientist in pharmaceutical or cosmetic industries, education, chemical/medical sales, business, graduate school, pharmacy school and medical school.

In the chemistry program at Sacred Heart, you will:

• Be prepared to continue your studies in the fields of medicine, dentistry, and other health-related professions

• Be able to join the national award-winning Sacred Heart Student Affiliate American Chemical Society Club (SHUSAACS) which promotes Chemistry to the community
• Have the opportunity to participate in research projects alongside faculty members
• Be able to present your research at the National American Chemical Society conference and network with over 10,000 chemistry professionals
