The Masters level Clinical Mental Health (CMH) Counseling program at The University of Memphis is designed to prepare diverse, knowledgeable and skilled counseling professionals to work in a variety of settings including:

- Substance abuse programs
- Hospital-based treatment programs
- Community-based correction programs
- Veteran's Administration medical centers
- Educational settings (high school and college/university)

The program is approved by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
Our Masters of Science degree (M.S.) is designed so that upon completion of the program, students will have met Tennessee's Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) educational requirements as well as the State's Mental Health Service Provider (MHSP)educational requirements.
