Organizational Development is a bachelor's degree program by the School of Technology in the Lumpkin College of Business and Technology. The Organizational Development program offers degree completion opportunities online, and in Charleston, Champaign, and Danville.
The Organizational Development coursework advances understanding of the human aspects of organizations (people, processes, and practices) and develops your skills to meet the challenges of the workplace in ways that both strengthen your contribution to the organization's ongoing development and better manage your own professional development. The program is designed to complement the skills you already have by providing a broader conceptual and theoretical framework for understanding organizations, individual professional development and the interaction between the two.
Our program is focused on developing competencies that will prepare you to advance in today’s organizations. We recognize the value of prior learning by accepting transfer credits form other institutions, credit for military training, and a path to earning credit for work experience and training. You will focus on the human aspects of organizations through contextual-based learning that encourages you to apply your work and life experiences as you develop new skills.
A B.S. in Organizational development will prepare you for careers in employee training, human resources, instructional design, quality improvement, supervision, and management in a variety of settings including both for-profit and non-profit organizations. Our experienced faculty, flexible course offerings and online course delivery make it possible to balance the needs of school, work, and home.
